Civil registration of non-Catholic marriages in Ireland began in 1845. The Registrars' offices in Belfast and Dublin maintain the registers and their indexes. The index has the names of both parties (but not together), the superintendant registrar's district and the volume and page number (**,**). In this list of Chestnut entries 1845-1875 for North Antrim I have indicated those for which I may have full details from church records, or otherwise, by * after the name.
