Carolyn Boucher's Bayou La Batre Corn Bread pre-heat oven 400° 20-25 mins 1 c self risen [sic] flour 1 c self risen white corn meal 1 egg milk olive oil Mix all the above ingredients except oil. Amount of milk is just enough to make batter moist as cake batter. Pour olive oil into skillet (enough \to cover bottom of #7 iron skillet) and heat on stove till hot. Once hot pour some of the hot oil into batter. Sprinkle a small amount of corn meal in skillet just to brown. Pour ingredients into hot skillet and bake in hot oven. Eat with plenty of butter and sweet iced tea.
